French Montana ft. Charlie Rock “Shot Caller” Eargazzm

Let’s get real for a second, French Montana is no where close to being a good rapper and probably will never be. Come to think of it even local fan favorite Delon is a much better rapper somewhat lyrically when compared to French. But what French does have, is a banging single that conquered the airwaves of the underground hip hop community which subsequently penetrated the fine veil between commercial hip hop and underground.

What separates “Shot Caller” from most other “banging” hip hop tunes is the trumpet driven melody that was sampled from a piece performed by The Thomas Bell Orchestra (4:09). That, riddled with a drumbeat gives a hip hop end-product like no other. And that is what threw French Montana into the public spotlight and thus ended up on my blog.

“Shot Caller” which also features Charlie Rock is to appear on his debut studio album, Excuse My French which is due to anytime this year under the tutelage of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Records. “Shot Caller” has also received the remix treatment and spawned many other freestyles since its release.

French was also featured on XXL Magazine’s Freshmen Class of 2012 which he claimed to have almost turned down due to him being more experienced than all the other rap rookies featured. (Yeah RIGHT!)

Ca$h Out “Cashin’ Out” Eargazzm

Currently signed to L.A. Reid’s newest record label Epic Records, Ca$h Out is an upcoming rapper from Atlanta who caused a major frenzy in the hip hop community by his swagnificent track “Cashin’ Out”.

Like every other hip hop breakthrough act “Cashin’ Out” also concentrates about the money, fame and the expensive life. But what separates it from most other hip hop numbers is the beat which can be deemed utterly unique. “Cashin’ Out” is driven by a melody exuded from a set of Hawaiian drums which were notably heard on Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat” and 50 Cent’s “P.I.M.P.”.

The beat encompassing the lyrics is the only reason which makes this track stand out tall and strong. Think of it as Rick Ross’ “B.M.F.” whose sound shattered all that was known as underground hip hop and whose lyrics were dumber than a chimpanzee that can speak Japanese.

Jay Z ft. Blue Ivy Carter “Glory” Single Premiere

Jay Z, a recent inductee to fatherhood dedicates an entire song for his new born daughter Blue Ivy Carter. No photos revealed due the couple  maintaining the highest levels of secrecy similarly to Tom Cruise’s baby affair.

This song was released a few days ago but I never paid much attention to it. And now that I did I must say that this is the most beautiful-lest rap song I’ve heard in a long time. No wonder Jay Z is the best rapper alive. This just reeks of emotion and great lyrics.

This track will be debuting on the Billboard’s at #74 next week.

Controversy

After her name was released to the public there has been quite a lot of controversy. Some fanatical groups called her Lucifer’s daughter, some speculated that she was not conceived by mommy Beyonce and other ignoramuses called her Illuminati’s Very Youngest. Now she’s called Satan thanks to a vandal attack at Beulah Baptist Church in North Carolina.

What a bunch of envious uneducated peasants! Two powerful people- whose power is all thanks to sheer talent-  is prone to religious scrutiny after giving birth (the most magical thing in the world)… Bitch Please!

Makes you think who the real Satan worshipers of the world are?

PS – Only cool parents give their children unique name’s so that they don’t have to use an corny aliases when gaming online. Use your brains for peeps sake :D

Cher Lloyd ft. Carolina Liar “Beautiful People” Single

What pissed me off was the fact that Cher Lloyd failed to recognize her own brilliance on this track. Or maybe she did but her brain dead record label executives failed to. As a result we were presented with bird droppings such as “Swagger Jagger” and recyclable trash such as “Want U Back”.

This track is from her debut album Sticks + Stones and was not released as a single. It features vocals by lead singer Chad Wolf of the Swedish alternative rock outfit Carolina Liar.

Lloyd weeps beautiful verses with amazing vocal prowess on this teary ballad on how she, just like every other human being, also has a tendency to get hurt by disrespectful remarks. Chad Wolf (who is from the US) adds to the heartfelt ballad with evenly matched musical poise and makes the composition even more tear jerking.

From what I heard I feel that this track interpolates some piece of music from the yesteryear due to its undeniable familiarity. Nevertheless this is a must-listen and does not sound like the usual swaggering and over confident Cher Lloyd we see on TV.

This highlights her beautiful vocal capacity and amazing lady-like grace she fails to depict on common Pop songs.

Psst..if you hated Lloyd all this time, this track will change you stance on her. I guarantee it.

Kraddy “Iron Man” Single Streaming

Kraddy remixes the Black Sabbath 70′s heavy metal classic “Iron Man” to emit a more modern sound. This is a Glitch Hop rendition of the Black Sabbath classic and I must that it exudes the fragrance of electronic excellence.

If you do not who or what the famous Iron Man track sounds like then click here and listen to the midi audio. And I assure you that your senses will burn in nostalgia. If you ever picked up a guitar you would know that after “Smoke On The Water” this is the next best thing!

Kraddy is a well known name in the Glitch Hop industry for been the founder of the celebrated Glitch Mob. His breakthrough act was titled “Android Porn” in 2008 and since then has gotten me hooked on to his music. One thing I noticed about Glitch Hop is that you can rap or sing on it.

Psst- this is not affiliated with the Iron Man comic franchise although it used in the movie at one point.

Lana Del Rey “Yayo” Single Premiere

Another track from the elegant and down to earth Lana Del Rey. And I cannot describe the feeling it exudes. With just a mellow strumming of a guitar & the sounds of a few subtle instruments, Del Rey recites her verses in a laid back manner only to produce an array of entrancing whispers.

From what I hear this track comes from a different era. Just beautiful.

Another track from her upcoming album Born To Die.

Lady Gaga “Stuck On F******* You” Unreleased Single

Mother Monster released a track for free just a day or two ago.Upon releasing it on the 25th of December this is what Gaga had to say,

“So to give you a little background to the creation of this song. I wrote it in Minnesota after the Monster Ball on the tour bus. We recorded it in one shot. Fernando on guitar, Paul on Drum Machine. I wrote, sang it, and freestyled the last minute + a half of the song.”

Honestly this track is much better than any of her singles I’ve heard lately. This is a bluesy instrumental with raw vocals from the Gagmeister giving it a gangsterific country vibe.
The last minute of the track was definitely freestyled because she tends to lose consistency every now and then. A really good attempt despite been unprocessed and raw.

Yelawolf “Everything I Love the Most” Single

Yelawolf samples the Billy Joel 70′s rock classic “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)” on the most stand out track in his album Radioactive.

Yela’s raps about the best things in his life which are deemed the worst things in life according to convention. The track  is entirely made up of an instrumental beat and therefore adds to the flavor. I’m not a fan of rappers who work on samples but Yela does justice on this instrumental beat and therefore deserves lengthy applause.

An overall good job! Recommended for everyone!

Yelawolf ft. Fefe Dobson “Animal” Single

Yelawolf enlists Canadian pop-rocker Fefe Dobson for this explosive and fast paced hip hop number. The track is off his recently released album Radioactive and is NOT an official single but something I picked up on.

The track mostly features inaudible lyrics due to Yela’s fast paced rhyming but works well with the beat. The most notable part of the song would be Fefe Dobson’s chorus where the melody changes completely and the pop-rocker exudes her haunting vocals.

Yela’s debut major label album released on the 21st of November has apparently sold 41k units in the first week therefore debuting at #27 on the Billboard 200. If it was a normal day he would have definitely made it to the top 7.

Hip hop fan or not I would recommend this for at least a stream.
