Drake ft. Lil Wayne “HYFR” Video Premiere

Like I mentioned earlier, Drake has a craptastic marketing team. The video for “HYFR” was released on the same day as the video for “Take Care was released. Summing up his videos this would be his fifth for his 2011 sophomore album, Take Care.

As for the track, it sounds different from what you would hear today but it still remains to be typically Drake. The video takes place inside a synagogue (Jewish temple) where Drake gets re-admitted into his faith. In the audience are a few good looking gals, Birdman, DJ Khaled (see how music unites) and of course Lil Wayne.

Alas this track has nothing special therefore it should’ve stayed on the album.

Drake ft. Rihanna “Take Care” Video Premiere

Did Drake just take a subliminal jab at Chris Brown? After weeks of teasing the rap-sing crooner finally released his most appreciated song and his most anticipated video off his 2011 sophomore album, Take Care.

The track is a rap-sung number reminiscent of the early Drake with a soothing melody and a calming vibe. Rihanna performs alongside Drake as his love interest and provides some beautiful vocals to go with the sensational song.

Although many claim that Drake has yet to provide a good video, I firmly believe that this very video might just be his best so far. But what I do not like is his marketing tactics.

Totally worth purchasing. 2:37 was the only downside to this beautiful piece.

Drake ft. Lil Wayne & Tyga “The Motto” Video Premiere

The only reason Drake would have given the green light for a video for this track is to improve his street cred. Apart from that, this track does nothing but hinder his well toned image as lyricist (at least that’s how I see it).

It’s unclear if this would serve as a single or just a promotional number. If you cannot find this on the standard version of the Take Care album that is because this track is only available via the iTunes store.

It, undoubtedly, has a hot beat but it’s still one of those “I’m cool so I strut” tracks. And the original version only includes Lil Wayne as a guest thereby concluding that Tyga was added solely so he could gain some recognition. Since he too has an album coming out early next year.

Guest appearances from E-40 & Mistah FAB are made on this video.

The below tracklisting is an example of how Drake chooses his duets, which is quite sad. Weezy on three tracks with Ross?

Drake “Take Care” album cover

Scheduled to drop October 24th

After an exciting debut under Cash Money/Young Money records last year Drake is back to enthrall us, yet again with a collection of brand new tracks. With the release of the art work (above) Drake released the following message to his fans:

“Feels like it’s been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24…I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Drake “Headlines” Single Premiere

So it seems that after all the misinformation leaked on to the interwebs from Drake’s party this piece of info is supposedly true. The single previously released as “Dreams, Money Can Buy” isn’t the debut single of his sophomore album, Take Care. Apparently this is.

The song is not bad, I love the distinct beats that he selects when recording a song.  If you love Drake, you’ll love this no matter what. This isn’t moody like his previously “alleged” debuts therefore it is worth giving it a listen. Coming from a non-Drake fan he definitely has an impeccable flow and lyrical skills hence why his songs need to be “listened to” as opposed to just “hearing”.

Drake “Marvin’s Room” Single Premiere

This single is actually quite good. Not suitable for those who are looking for a hard hitting beats with anger fueled rap lyrics. This is mellow & emotional as a rap single can get. This rap-sung single is definitely worth checking out even if you are not into the Young Money MC, as I am.

Not sure if this is from his upcoming sophomore effort, Take Care or just a promotional single for his upcoming album.

Drake “Dreams, Money Can Buy” Single Premiere

drake

I was never a hardcore fan of Drake and I will never be but he does have some really good singles both commercial and non-commercial.

This track contains a sample from a very famous olden Goldie that I can’t seem to put a finger on. The lyrics are deep as usual although the irritability in his voice doesn’t seem to go away, which I detest.
