This track only appears on Disc 2 off his fifth album, Nothing But The Beat (2011) due to its instrumental nature.
To sum this track up it sounds quite similar to that produced by the legendary electro-duo Daft Punk. No vocals just electronic synthesizers going back and forth against an up-tempo beat.
Real Electronica fans, this one is for you. So enjoy!
Psst…at least now we know that Guetta has not sold out, entirely!
This is what is known as a Steampunk world. An alternate reality run on steam and bulky mechanical devices which depicts a bland and war-like environment. Another cut from his fifth albumNothing But The Beat which also happens to be currently standing within the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
A decent effort by Guetta showcasing his typical uptempo-synthetic production value that can be categorized as EDM. But don’t be fooled because this is nothing like his spectacular “Titanium” which was hovering on the very peak of the UK Charts until just a few days ago.
Nevertheless this is one of his better EDM productions and therefore deserves praise and applause. As for Nicki Minaj, she acts in her usual theatrical way while performing most of the lyrics in a singing format.
I never thought that I would be saying this but here goes I love this David Guetta track and this track is above all off his commercial hits released in the recent past. Back in August this track served as a promotional single for his latest album Nothing But The Beat but was later turned into his fourth official single.
Mind you, this isn’t another unoriginal and corny dance single with a commercial cast. This track can be classified as highly emotional and mind exercising. Guetta too had mentioned previously that this track is really special to him. No wonder this track feels very homely and releasing.
Not only did the track exceed my expectations but the visuals too proved to be a legitimate and well thought out attempt. Really worth the 4+ minutes on every count.
The track features Australian songstress Sia, who will also be making an appearance on an upcoming Flo Rida single.
rating: ♥♥♥ (all that came from a person who’s not into techno/electro/dance or David Guetta)
Guetta’s third single from his recently released album, Nothing But The Beat (August) and also his third hit to reach the Billboard top 10.
The track is a up-tempo dance pop single where the melody & beat tones down during Usher’s vocals. This is quite the change to his previous two singles from the same album.
The visuals are quite mediocre to this kind of music which consists of all the continents merging together and its people having fun together with Usher appearing in awkwardly for his vocals. Nothing special there.
Despite making it to the Billboard Top 10 I still don’t find this track anymore appealing than his previous two singles.
UK Electro/House maestro, David Guetta has just unveiled his brand new pair of headphones made in collaboration with Beats Electronics which is co-owned by Dr. Dre & Interscope CEO Jimmy Lovine.
This pair of unique headphones are called Beats Mixr and boasts a brand new design that has never been seen in the Beats line of headphones. The headphones are made for easy carrying (especially for DJs) hence making the cups into a swivel design.
This is what Guetta had to say regarding the new design adopted by Beats Electronics:
“I use headphones every day in the studio and every night at gigs, so I know how important the difference in quality is and want to share that. The sound is better than anything I’ve experienced before because it doesn’t distort no matter what volume I am playing music at…They’re easy to travel with because they’re so light and compact. I can’t wait to start using them when I’m DJing, creating music or just when I’m listening to music on the move.”
The headphones are now available in the UK for RRP £249.95
On another note, it was reported that Dr. Dre had sold his shares of Beats Electronics to Taiwan phone manufacture HTC for a whooping $309 million. HTC will be incorporating Beats technology to their upcoming smart phones whilst Dre & Lovine continue to operate Beats headphones.
