Miley Cyrus ft. Johnzo West “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” Video Premiere

A calm and collected Miley Cyrus covers Bob Dylan’s 1964 hit of the same name while perched up on a stool. This track is due to appear on the album Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International along with a few other renditions of Bob Dylan’s amazing hits by some well artists.

The video just like Miley’s recital is mellow and pleasant and adds to the aura created by the more grown up Miley Cyrus. Also featured is the band Johnzo West.

Since this is a cover song you rate it yourself.

Zooey & JGL “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve” cover video

Actress Zooey Deschanel & actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt performs their version of the 1947 classical number “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” by veteran Jazz artist Nancy Wilson.

These guys aren’t the first to cover and certainly won’t be the last but the duo’s chemistry is quite visible in this video and therefore quite adorable. The 500 Days of Summer actress strums the ukulele while her co-star backs her up with some guitar strings.

Zooey says:

“I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year’s duet for all of you! The original by Nancy Wilson. ENJOY!”

Recently Zooey split with her husband Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) and therefore this video could be the start of some very heavy rumors. Check out Zooey on her new fox sitcom New Girl and JGL on the upcoming Dark Knight Rises.

JGL “Ignition (remix)” Cover video

Also called Joseph Gordon Levitt known mostly for his acting chops (Inception, G.I. Joe, Dark Knight Rises, 3rd Rock from the Sun etc.) but did you know that the guy can really sing.

Well check him out above for his acoustic cover of R.Kelly’s most notable song of the yesteryear “Ignition (remix)”.

Ashanthi “How To Love (cover)” Video

Thanks to a blogger on the local blogosphere I was able to get hold of Ashanthi’s version of Lil Wayne’s touching single “How To Love”.

Mind you, this isn’t the American R&B songstress Ashanti know for a chat topping numbers back in the day.
This is Sri Lanka’s very own Queen of Hip Hop & R&B, Ashanthi de Alwis or simply known as Ashanthi. Also she is the only female artist in Sri Lanka to release two separate albums under Sony & Universal Music.

Ashanthi goes all out with her gifted vocals doing more than justice to this track. Simply beautiful and is a must listen.

JoJo “What’s My Name” cover single

JoJo takes a stab at Rihanna’s highly acclaimed duet “What’s My Name” off her 2010 album LOUD. And she ended it with a bang.

Await for JoJo’s upcoming third album titled Jumping Trains scheduled to drop early next Spring. The video for her debut single “Disaster” is about to be released in a week or two.

Below are the Behind The Scenes footage.

Sophia Grace Brownlee “Super Bass (cover)” Video

OMG this is too cute for words to describe. Furthermore this kid has a great set of vocals. Also check out her other cover single “Turn My Swag On”.

Soon after this video became a viral sensation on the interwebs, Ellen invited the girls on to her show and guess who else showed up?

Neon Hitch “Gucci Gucci” (Kreayshawn Cover)

The audacious songstress is back on the streets in her tiny shorts performing Kreayshawn’s debut single “Gucci, Gucci” with the help of the general public.

I was never a fan of Kreayshawn. I never liked her single. Nor do I like her for some unknown reason. But after checking out Neon’s cover version I was utterly surprised. This shouldn’t have come as a surprise since her previous cover of Wiz Khalifa’s “On My Level” was spot on or rather much better than the original.

Crywolf “Touche” Godsmack cover

The band responsible for the ever eargazzmin’ track “The Wind” is back with their own cover version of Godsmack’s “Touche”.

This track was originally from the heavy metal band’s acoustic EP, The Other Side which was released way back in 2004. The track features their original guitarist Lee Richards and vocalist John Kosco from the defunct band Dropbox.

Check out Crywolf’s attempt at what the fans call “Godsmack’s best piece of acoustic music”. This was performed at the 2nd preliminary of TNL Onstage 2011. These guys are a group of monstas bred for the sole purpose of providing the local rock scene with the unique essence of the enigmatic ingredient X.

Taylor Swift “Just A Dream (cover)” Live

Country darling Taylor Swift went back to her R&B/Hip Hop personna just a few days ago to cover Eminem’s Oscar winning single “Lose Yourself” using just a guitar and her gifted vocals. And now she is back again to cover one of (rapper) Nelly’s best comeback ballads “Just A Dream”.

Check it out, it’s simply amazing!

Kudos to Rico Love & Jim Jonsin for the composition and writing of some of the lyrics. And Nelly for adding that special unidentifiable ingredient he is known for.

Did you know that Nelly’s “coolness” was boosted in the eyes of his daughter when Taylor Swift tweeted the song?  I can’t seem to find the damn tweet -_-
