This video is so beautiful that it was posted on a dominant hip hop blog that I follow. That fact alone speaks for the magical nature of this other worldly production from Coldplay’s very recent album, Mylo Xyloto.
The video stars Elliot Tittensor from the TV show Shameless and Antonia Thomas from Misfits. It was directed by Matt Whitecross.
First off this track won’t be released until the 10th of this month. Secondly Coldplay, sometime back, denounced the rumors of the Rihanna collaboration “Princess of China” of being the third single. It was apparently an unavoidable leak.
“Charlie Brown” will be the third single of their recently released fifth album Mylo Xyloto. Honestly compared to “Princess of China” this much better in terms of everything that goes into music production. Also according to Chris Martin this track was the center piece for the entire album, that I have to again agree with.
The vibe given of this song is just magical and totally unique. “Charlie Brown” features notable guitar riffs by Johnny Buckland and that is what gives it a fresh sound. You’ve probably find this familiar like I did. They should’ve released this as their first single instead of “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall”.
Also Mylo Xyloto has debuted at the top (or at least the top 3) of every music chart known to man kind and is a massive success is terms of sales and good music.
rating: ♥♥♥
Psst… Mylo Xyloto is one continuous story told in the form of song & dance. Each song represents a chapter of the story. How cool is that?
Coldplay really outdid themselves in this beautifully produced set of visuals. This would be Coldplay’s second video for their second single off their fifth album titled Mylo Xyloto, whose meaning is still an enigma.
A must watch and a must have single. This might go on to top the Billboards pretty soon.
Being a rock band of sorts it’s highly unusual for a band like Coldplay to feature world renown Pop stars in their singles. Then again they have proven us wrong and done the unthinkable by featuring the Bajan Princess Rihanna.
The single unfortunately for them was leaked in advance and I was able to get my hands on it just in time. And I must say that I’m not a even slightly disappointed with this unusual collaboration.
This isn’t the “drum & guitar” alternative sound that Coldplay is known for, in fact this track can be classified as soft Synth/Electro Pop. The track opens in an epic manner with Rihanna wailing over the melody, that resembles a tune played a lot in Asian movies, made of electronic sounds.
This is off Coldplay upcoming fifth album, Mylo Xylotoand is also the only single to feature a guest vocalist. An amazing effort by both Chris Martin and Rihanna even though this isn’t the kind of song that Coldplay performs.
At first I wasn’t even bothered to give this single a try mainly because Coldplay’s previous single “Every Tear Drop Is a Waterfall” was kind of a let down. But upon reading a few reviews by a few independent bloggers I decided to give this a chance.
Lo and behold this was quite a change compared to their previous release from Mylo Xyloto.
It was also announced by Coldplay that Rihanna would be appearing on their album in the track “Princess of China”.
We still haven’t got word from the band regarding the unorthodox title they have chosen for this album. Click here to see the Special Edition cover. The new single “Paradise” drops within the next 36 hours so keep your ears perked.
