What pissed me off was the fact that Cher Lloyd failed to recognize her own brilliance on this track. Or maybe she did but her brain dead record label executives failed to. As a result we were presented with bird droppings such as “Swagger Jagger” and recyclable trash such as “Want U Back”.
This track is from her debut album Sticks + Stones and was not released as a single. It features vocals by lead singer Chad Wolf of the Swedish alternative rock outfit Carolina Liar.
Lloyd weeps beautiful verses with amazing vocal prowess on this teary ballad on how she, just like every other human being, also has a tendency to get hurt by disrespectful remarks. Chad Wolf (who is from the US) adds to the heartfelt ballad with evenly matched musical poise and makes the composition even more tear jerking.
From what I heard I feel that this track interpolates some piece of music from the yesteryear due to its undeniable familiarity. Nevertheless this is a must-listen and does not sound like the usual swaggering and over confident Cher Lloyd we see on TV.
This highlights her beautiful vocal capacity and amazing lady-like grace she fails to depict on common Pop songs.
rating: ♥♥♥
Psst..if you hated Lloyd all this time, this track will change you stance on her. I guarantee it.
X Factor’s notable British contestant Cher Lloyd recruits her counterpart, Astro from the US to spin his own take on her third single from her debut album Sticks + Stones.
This track is good in terms of melody and lyrics. Not a bad attempt overall. But this should not have been her third single because it sounds exactly like her previous. She should have released “Beautiful People” featuring Carolina Liar instead which is absolutely heavenly and also highlights her vocal prowess.
Nevertheless she tops up this okay-song with a delightful and fun video which was the reason I enjoyed the entire project. If not for the video this song has no noticeable star power to stand on its own.
rating: ♥♥
Pssst…Astro is just 15 years of age. Also I don’t like Cher’s short trimmed hair.
Cher Lloyd’s debut album may not have debuted at the very peak of the UK charts but she did manage to amass a following. This track won’t serve as a single but was intended for the promotion of her albumSticks + Stones.
This track which features the controversial grime artist Dot Rotten can be stamped as Swagnificent. Lloyd rap-sings on the Dub step number with the above mentioned rappers dropping a verse each.
Her attire is simple but very post modern as far as I can see it. Whilst her first single, a generic pop effort, garnered much criticism and her second single brought in PG love, this track will bring all the bad boys to the yard.
To conclude, this track will definitely allow Cher Lloyd to gain some street cred.
rating: ♥♥♥ (if you love rap on dub step)

Cher looks so cute when she says “Da Ra Ra Rum Pum”, at the end.
This is the X-Factor contestant’s sophomore single & video off her upcoming album which is rumored to drop in November.
Compared to her previous disaster “Swagger Jagger” this video shows a more mature and ever so cute Cher Lloyd. Mike Posner makes an appearance for his verse although not much of him is shown after.
This should’ve been her debut attempt at music on a commercial level. Everything from the single to the video is absolutely perfect! MUST WATCH!!!
If you think that this recently famed Pop princess gave up on her music career after an plethora of negative feedback for her debut song then you are wrong. Ever since her successful disaster of a debut she had been working much harder on providing her fans with new & unique pieces of music.
Therefore I present to you Cher Lloyd’s official sophomore single featuring raspy vocals from the “Cooler Than Me” singer Mike Posner.
A must listen production for pop music lovers who detest the overrated sub-genre known as Electro-Pop!
This right here is the Cher Lloyd I wanna listen to and I’m pretty sure you would too. This isn’t a EDM like her previous disaster. This is a regular pop single with a very listenable non-electronic twist encompassed of soft drums and maybe a little bit of organ and guitar as far as I can here. This single actually takes you back to the era where pop music was enjoyable in a very non-slutty way.
If you aren’t entirely convinced by my review (any of it) just listen to the basic acoustic version of this above single. Both the acoustic version and the completed version can be found on Hulkshare.
This is what I’m talking about. This guitar assisted track exactly showcases what Cher Lloyd is capable of. Honestly, she should just rethink her entire strategy planned out for her album especially if she is planning to take a Pop/Electronic approach. Simply put she should release slow acoustic based singles that highlight her main strength, her voice.
A week earlier Cher Lloyd released her debut single & video which unfortunately for her was prone to much criticism. Taking into account of her first audition for X-Factor 2010 she is someone who could enthrall the audiences by simply blaring her powerhouse vocals. Sadly for her modern day music that actually sells doesn’t require her to use her amazing vocals therefore leaving her in a state of struggle.
It’s finally here. The Xfactor 2010 contestant has finally released her debut video for her debut single. The song resembles a nursery rhyme which is popular in the US and some other parts of the world. The song is catchy but is repetitive and isn’t a lyrical work of art. Nevertheless this is going to be a powerful hit in days.
It was announced earlier that Busta Rhymes would be appearing on this track but it seems that it was just a rumor. Also I’m actually sick of the word Swag!
Although Cher Lloyd is a magnet to negative and hateful remarks because of this song I seriously think it isn’t her fault entirely since Record labels are known to cause hindrance to an artiste’s creativity so that they could make music that sell.
