Up and Running (again)

So after much deliberation I have decided to come back to my humble little blog to unleash my eccentric blogging skills. As for the hiatus, it was for personal reasons that would mainly sum up to my inability to wake up in the wee hours of the morning. Also came into play my obsessive and compulsive need to post about music however bad it may be.

Anyhow, I’m back and kicking more ferociously than ever before despite the inability to purchase a domain name and a customized template, still. Also I’ve decided to resurrect the entertainment news section and be active in that department.

The rating system:

♥♥♥ - A must download regardless of your native genre.
♥♥♥ - As a fan of a particular genre you will appreciate it definitely.
 ♥♥  - Stream & be surprised.
♥   - Listening to it once might do the trick.

That’s all for now and I do hope you keep popping in at least once a day to check up on my blog. A big thank you for all my readers and please do comment on any post you find useful. Also a huge thank you for all your comments.

Also please vote Here and Here to up my page rank.

Odd Future “Rella” Video Premiere

Here’s the problem with the diabolical cult group known as Odd Future, their videos tend to give the most bravest of all insane and incurable nightmares. This video lays no exception to that fact.

While the video looks arty in a low-budget fashion, the beat sounds sinister therefore giving this overall project an experimental look & feel. This particular track features  Hodgy, Domo Genesis & Tyler, The Creator.

This single is slated to appear on the group second album The OF Tape Vol. 2 due this March. The album, just as their previous will be released through the group’s very own label, Odd Future Records which will be distributed by Sony’s RED distribution.  Come to think of it Odd Future are indeed a genuine self-made conglomerate.

Mind you that this track is not for everybody. Especially not for typical hip hop fans. You are allowed to feel outrage at 1:22 but remember that this is Odd Future (& not Spartaaaa) therefore your efforts will be in vain.

Kaskade ft. Skylar Grey “Room for Happiness (Fire mix)” Video Premiere

This fiery number is an up-beat rendition of the previously posted forlorn Ice Mix of “Room for Happiness”. Whilst the Ice Mix bragged strings and piano on its melody, the Fire Mix (depicted here) shows off its simple and upbeat attire similar to that of raw House tracks produced by specialists back in the day. This version is not to be confused with that of eletro-pop trash dominating every radio station these days. In fact this is much more refined and unpretentious despite its danceable nature.

The video sort of picks up where it left in the previous version but I’m saddened to say that the video depicted here contains bits and pieces of the previous, interlaced with new brightening shots of Skylar in a devilish manner. Therefore it is not wrong to say that the intense Fire mix does not exactly act as a sequel in the traditional manner thereby tending to be a bit boring and repetitive in spite of the House beat it encompasses.

If you are a looking for a video worth watching do not miss out on the depressive Ice Mix whereas this version looks good on its own without the aid of a video. Nonetheless I recommend both these versions especially to every avid fan of The Girl with the Owl Tattoo.

Kaskade ft. Skylar Grey “Room for Happiness (Ice mix)” Video Premiere

After months of neglect, Kaskade finally releases his second video from his 2011 album Fire & Ice. And it features the eerie vocals of none other than the “Love the Way You Lie” hitmaker, Skylar Grey.

This video is made to represent the Ice mix of the song and acts as the opening chapter of Kaskade’s & Skylar’s search for happiness.
Keeping with the eerie nature of the song, the video features a melancholic Skylar Grey reciting her verses whilst curled up on a bed dressed in what looks like a post-modern hospital gown. While all this takes place, Kaskade monitors her behavior from a separate room through a camera attached in her cell. As the video rolls on Skylar slips in and out of consciousness taking us deep into her fascinating mind and back.

The overall effect of this amazing masterpiece is quite peculiar and strangely blissful.
If promoted correctly via MTV/Vh1 this track will undoubtedly climb up every chart in every country in an alarming fashion. Sadly, these days MTV/Vh1 networks are all about promoting generic garbage in spite of their ever changing sales figures.

Convince yourself to watch this!

JLS “Proud” Video Premiere

After delivering video after video, and single after single of mediocrity, the British boy band finally unleashes some spirit on the first single off their upcoming 2013 album.

This attempt has each and every member of the Pop/R&B outfit exude their self harnessed vocal skills to the very maximum proving to me and his devout fans alike that they are more than a money making venture of a greedy record label and somewhat biased reality talent show.

It’s not wrong to say that Pretty Boys’ finally did us proud.

B.o.B “So Good” Single Premiere

After a parade of generic music the man who put the romance back in hip hop brings us something beautiful and somewhat nostalgic.

This is, by far the best single B.o.B has provided us from his upcoming sophomore album Strange Clouds which is scheduled for release come May 1st, 2012. If a video for this does not come anytime sooner he may lose the potential of an obvious hit.

In his latest attempt, B.o.B tells us how he treats the love of his life  in a very B.o.B.’ish manner over the Ryan Tedder produced sunny-side up melody. To top it all off B.o.B exercises his vocal skills on the chorus and adds a few la la la la’s to the ever soaring chorus. From happy to happiest if time is all B.o.B needs to produce amazing hits then time we shall give him.

From all the content released as of now from his second studio effort, “So Good” might be the most radio friendly and lighthearted Pop-sounding track so far. Available on iTunes.

rating: ♥♥♥ (recommended for all!)

Psst…The remix to Strange Clouds was released sometime back and it is not in the least eargazzming thanks to the hip hop commoners that B.o.B had enlisted.

Rihanna ft. Chris Brown “Birthday Cake (remix)” Single Premiere

Rihanna finally allows Chris Brown a slice of her Birthday Cake after years of bad blood between the two. Is this Rihanna’s way of getting a slice of CB’s Grammy fame or CB’s way of gaining such much needed respect from the hardcore Rihanna fans?

This track originally amounted up to only a minute (& 18 seconds) on Rihanna’s album Talk That Talk but now it runs close to 4 minutes since the induction of Chris Brown into the remix.

The lyrics centers around Rihanna’s need for spontaneous sex and therefore is overtly sexual. The production (by The-Dream & Da Internz) consists of a dominant Electro tune which is fairly consistent with the subject matter making it an overall arousing number.

But it’s still not a track worth buying especially since it was included as a interlude on the album.

Psst…Also check out Chris Brown’s remix of “Turn Up The Music” featuring Rihanna.
